Prepare canvas panel background
Begin with a blank canvas and coat with 1-2 layers of clear gesso. Using inks of choice, apply layers of ink using any technique of choice to apply color onto the canvas panel. Use a heat tool to dry ink between applications. Use up to three colors of inks.
With Collage medium, place sheet music onto canvas panel. Complete with a top coat of the medium and dry.
Position large stencil over panel, tape down if necessary. Apply stencil paste with a palette knife. Lift stencil; allow the paste to dry.
Reposition stencil over the dry paste and sponge on the color acrylic paint of choice over the design.
Preparing fabric for foam embellishments
Tear pieces of fabrics (use a white on white pattern). Use inks, ink sprays or diluted paints to color fabric. Use a heat tool to dry colorant between layers.
Position stencil patterns over colored fabric and add the pattern from the stencil. Apply colored/stenciled fabric onto Adhesive Foam sheets.
Die cut shapes.
Adding final touches
Brush Mixed Media Medium onto the fringe and solid area of the burlap scrap. Apply medium around the heart die-cut or any areas to accent with foil.
Lay foil sheet over tacky medium and rub to release foil onto the surface.
Position burlap scrap, glue in place.
Position verse (fabric or other), glue.
Place fabric/foam heart, leaves and flowers on the panel.
Glue all other embellishments in place.
Punch a hole into each corner at the top of the panel.
Add a strip of torn fabric for hanger; tie a knot at ends.
